Your Madrid trip from Singapore
Madrid from Singapore: 3 days, food and Spain trip planning
Fit Madrid into your Spain trip by counting the days you can actually explore. Keep arrival and onward travel separate from your full city days, choose food stops near your walk, and give any excursion its own space. This guide helps you make those choices before filling every hour.

Where Madrid fits in a Spain itinerary
Write down your arrival city, the nights in each place and the departure point before booking attractions. If your trip includes Barcelona or Andalusia, compare the complete travel day between stays: checkout, station or airport access, luggage, the journey and arrival at the next accommodation. Avoid treating an evening arrival as a full sightseeing day. The Madrid plan below is an editorial suggestion; adjust it to the days you have.
From Singapore to your first hours in Madrid
Read each dated flight segment separately, including any connection and the terminal where you actually arrive. Arrange the journey to the full accommodation address and ask about check-in. If your room is not ready, ask whether the hotel can keep your bags; otherwise compare a storage point with collection hours that fit your day. Keep the first walk short enough to change after the journey.
A three-day Madrid plan built around neighbourhoods
For your first full day, consider the Royal Palace area, the old centre and a food stop nearby. On day two, pair the Prado area with the Literary Quarter; reserve museum admission separately if you want to go inside. Use day three for Retiro and Narváez, or choose another route according to your interests. These are walking plans, not combined attraction tickets. Check each attraction’s current opening, access and booking conditions.
Tapas, sharing plates and choosing food stops
Choose a neighbourhood first so your food outing fits the rest of the day. Read the menu format as well as the dish: a tapa, media ración and full ración can mean different quantities and prices. Start with a small order and add more if you want. Ask when the kitchen is serving, what accompanies the drink and what is charged separately. If you need a particular dietary preparation, ask the restaurant directly before ordering.
Add Toledo or Segovia without squeezing the city days
If you want an excursion, add a separate day or replace one Madrid day deliberately. For Toledo, check the departure station, arrival time and onward trip to the historic centre before booking your return. For Segovia, allow for the transfer between Guiomar station and the city. Compare the whole day, not just the train journey. Save the return service and any reservation details before setting off.
Keep euro prices and your Singapore-dollar budget separate
Record bookings in euros and keep any SGD estimate dated. Your card provider determines conversion terms and possible charges; an estimated exchange rate is not the amount guaranteed on your statement. Budget for meals, transport, accommodation and attraction tickets separately. The Madrid pass is €4.99, not S$4.99. Check the bill against your order and read our guide before deciding whether to leave a voluntary tip.
Plan for Madrid’s season on your travel dates
Use the forecast for the actual week you will be in Madrid. A December visit needs a different outdoor plan from a summer visit: clothing, breaks and the amount of walking should follow the conditions. Keep a shorter route and an indoor option available. Check holiday opening and transport information with the operator rather than assuming that a published regular timetable covers every date.
Travel checks before leaving Singapore
Read Singapore MFA’s Spain guidance and the information for every transit country. Requirements depend on your passport, purpose and travel dates, not just your departure airport; use the appropriate authorities for your circumstances. Check your mobile plan’s Spain roaming terms and arrange internet for maps and assisted features. Save the accommodation address, tickets and important contacts outside the app. Recheck bookings and transport updates before each travel day.
Keep your Madrid walks and tools together
The GidePass Madrid pass brings together eight walking routes, English audio guides and travel tools, including menu explanations and shared expenses. Preview the routes before deciding. The pass costs €4.99 for seven days from activation, paid once with no subscription. Internet is needed for maps and assisted features. Meals, admissions, transport and external reservations are paid separately.

Is this a complete Spain itinerary?
No. It helps you organize the Madrid part and the transitions around it. The Madrid pass does not supply routes for every city in Spain.
Can I do Madrid and Toledo in three days?
You can replace a city day with an excursion if it fits your priorities. The plan above uses three full Madrid days; adding Toledo needs extra time or a deliberate trade-off.
Are the guide and route previews free?
Yes. You can read this guide and preview the routes before buying. The Madrid pass and any external bookings are separate purchases.
